Hello Neighbors! During these difficult times, we want you to know that your neighbors and the Wilshire Park Association are here for you!
Wilshire Park Association has scheduled an outdoor general meeting for Saturday, September 18, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at 860 5th Avenue. Click this link for the agenda.
Back in 2020, unfortunately, we had to cancel our beloved Halloween Haunt for the first time in a decade. But it is time to meet again with all the prudent safeguards - masks, social distancing. The solution? The First Annual Halloween Neighborhood Walk, Saturday. October 30.
Mandates and recommendations for masking and vaccination are being updated almost on a daily basis, and considering the risks, it only makes sense to err on the side on caution and take into account all the most current CDC recommendations. We are encouraging each block to plan a more local celebration specifically for those on your block, organized as a walking event. This simplifies the logistics for all of us: no parking problems, no street closures, no permits, no petitions, no expenses, and an Autumn walk with your friends and neighbors. Dress up, load up on candy, set up on your front yard and prepare to get acquainted with neighbors you never knew you had.
Because Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, we are planning this event for Saturday, October 30. This way we don't compete with traditional family Halloween Trick or Treating. We should add extra traffic control for each block in the form of a crossing guard with reflective vests provided by Wilshire Park Association - more on how to volunteer upcoming as the event evolves.
